Over the last three years, I have been using pocket size and it has slowly become my favorite size. Over on my youtube channel, linked on my website as well, I shared a video detailing my 5 reasons for transitioning to pocket size. So I figured it was time I wrote them out as well !
Most shops regularly carry pocket size inserts and accessories. From Simple and Trendy Co to Eo Edits, you can find the perfect layout -- either a week on two pages or a goal tracker. Thus, it is very easy to customize.
Reason #1: Portability
It's portable -- easy to throw in the smallest handbag or utilize on the go in between classes. From the smallest of handbags to my backpack, I never have to leave my planner behind. I do not believe that any other size, has that versatility.
Reason #2: Less Overwhelm
I used to be an avid personal size planner user, when I first entered the community. Yet, I would find that using personal size I had a lot of page room that was being unused. I have found that with pocket I do not have as much anxiety in not taking up the whole page because the pages are smaller. It is also easy to find pocket sized inserts or print my own. You can also fit 4 pages on one letter size page !
Reason #3: Planner Peace
I have found the perfect planner with all the neat features -- being able to switch the rings, it being leather, having lots of pockets, etc !
Reason #4: Ease of Purchase
Most shops with physical or digital products, carry pocket size as it is a size typically carried by most long standing planner companies such as Filofax. So it is always easy to purchase a new dashboard when you get sick of your old one !
Reason #5: Cost Effective
Having been in the planner community, a while I know that it can sometimes get very overwhelming in keeping up with what everyone else is doing. As well, it is often challenging to find a planner that works for you instead of you working for it. So I love catching a deal whenever possible.
That is why I love pocket size rings. Most all planner manufacturers carry a pocket size binder so it is very easy to find a leather or style in pocket size at a company you support. It also tend to be less expensive because less leather is required to create your planner.
Bonus: It's Adorable
I'd be lying if I did not say, I love it because it is cute and tiny. It also gets a ton of love when I take it out around town with me. I always get stopped and asked about it when purchasing goods or getting my nails done. It is the perfect companion !
