After carrying around the white #motermversa for a month, I figured it was time to summarize my thoughts. I will be giving you a guide to the Moterm Versa in comparison to the original model along with my tips on which one you should get.
Pros of The Versa Design:
The Versa design was something that I was really intrigued with after always lusting over everyone's Gillio Mia Cara's on Instagram. However, the Gillio line of market tends to come with a luxury price point that at the time, seemed very out of reach. So when I saw that Moterm was designing their own two part ring binder -- I jumped at the chance.
At first glance the Moterm Versa, features a luxurious litchi leather that is very squishy to the touch which comes in a variety of colors (white,taupe,black,pink, grey, with others coming) along with 19 mm rings that come with removable screws. That is a big draw of the Versa, in that it is a bit wider in width from the original model, which means you can switch to 26 or 30 mm rings.
As well, there are many card slots that allow you to hold anything from task cards to your hair appointment rewards card. As well, the Versa is basically two planners in one. You could use the inner ring binder portion alone and the outer cover with an additional A6 or B6 notebook (depending on if you get the pocket or personal size, respectively).
Cons of The Versa Design:
The major drawback of the Versa is that it can get very heavy as you add larger rings to accommodate more inserts. Yet, I would say that is much more manageable in terms of weight then my old personal which I could not carry in my purse comfortably. It also has a large pocket on the left size of the outer cover, that is a bit thick.
In addition, many in the community, have pointed out that while design features many card slots, it can difficult to style them.
Should I Purchase A Versa or Original ?
If you are debating between, the original and versa model, I would suggest the following criteria for each choice:
Original:
New to pocket rings
Interested in using it as a companion to the rest of your planning system
Singular purpose - your wallet, your monthly calendar, on the go notebook
Versa:
Lover of pocket rings
You utilize a lot of business, planner or task cards
You utilize a variety of planners: a bound book and rings.
You are a lover of chunky planners and crave one binder or system for your whole life !
